Brooches
As you'll recall, Brooches are special pieces of equipment that hold Jewels which provide several buffs, stat boosts and skills.

The Brooches are equipped on an exclusive slot in your inventory, allowing you to enjoy the benefits without having to take up existing equipment slots.

Each Brooch has at least two open slots to insert Jewels. Jewels can be inserted, removed, and swapped around freely. If more than one Jewel of the same type is equipped, only the effect of the higher-level Jewel will be applied.


Level your Brooch

Each Brooch can be levelled up through Compounding to improve the effect up to Lv.5.

Only Brooches of the same type and level can be compounded. Upon failure, only one of the Brooches used will be destroyed.

As detailed above, you can obtain a Brooch Lv. 1 from the L2 Store for 80 NCoin or from the L2 Coin Shop for 700 L2 Coins.

Only Brilliant Jewelry Boxes and Jewel Chests are tradable. Once opened, the jewels cannot be traded to other players or via the Dimensional Merchant.

Jewels

Each Jewel can be leveled up through Compounding to improve the effect up to Lv.5, after which two Lv. 5 gems of the same type can be combined for a 100% chance of obtaining a Lv. 1 Greater version of the same type of gem.

With Greater Gems Lv. 2-5, combining a Gem with Gem Energy will offer a chance at leveling up the gem. Similar to before, combine two Lv. 5 Greater Gems of the same type for a 100% chance at obtaining a Top-Grade Gem.

Similar to before, to level up a Top-Grade gem, the Gem must be combined with Gem Energy for a chance at obtaining the next level.

Only Jewels of the same type and level can be compounded. If compounding is unsuccessful for standard gems only one will be returned. For Greater and Top-Grade gems an unsuccessful compounding will consume the gem energy and return the Lv. 1 version of the same tier of Gem. For example, if using a Lv. 3 Top-Grade Gem in an unsuccessful compounding would return a Lv. 1 Top-Grade Gem. 

Beginning with this promotion, the Red Cat's Eye, Blue Cat's Eye, and Emerald have been added to the selection of gems and the Greater and Top-Grade levels have been unlocked to create new, more powerful gems.
